VA Work Study

Our MVS Work Study Team is made up of an amazing group of student employees eager to assist in answering VA education benefits questions, hosting major annual events and monthly socials, and building community among incoming and current military-connected students.

Program details include:

• Up to (9) positions per semester, including summer sessions
• $7.25/hr untaxed and non-competing with scholarships or VA benefits
• An average of 20 hours per week
• Duties ranging from student outreach and event support to office assisting and social media marketing
• Eligible students selected following successful MVS interview process

Throughout the year, team members also take part in training meetings, staff retreats, and various group outings. In addition to these team development activities, individual work study members are often invited to participate in other professional opportunities such as co-presenting at symposiums, serving as student panelists, and hosting special guests on campus visits.

If you’re using VA education benefits and attending classes (preferably at NC State) at 3/4 time or higher, you may be eligible to apply for a VA Work Study position in our office.
