Each year, we welcome all new military-affiliated students to campus through a series of events designed to connect, inform, and prepare students for their time at NC State.
Student Veteran Summit
The Summit is specifically designed as a welcome for all incoming NC State military-affiliated students and their families regardless of academic major, desired career path, or class standing (freshman, transfer, or graduate). This program has proven successful in assisting our military-affiliated students with their transition into the Wolfpack community.
This year’s event was hosted on Thursday, August 6th at highlighting an introduction to university and community resources, a virtual Center tour, and an introduction Student Veterans Association.
Please Note: This program is not a replacement for the mandatory NC State New Student Orientation program, but is meant to highlight experiences, information, and resources of special interest to military-affiliated students and their families.
Virtual Admission Information Sessions
This 50-minute session is hosted by NC State’s Veterans Education and Jeffrey Wright Military and Veterans Services and will cover the need-to-knows on how to become a competitive undergraduate applicant while highlighting various pathway options for prospective military-affiliated students.
The session will strategically highlight the following topics as well as offer attendees the opportunity to ask questions and meet our service team:
- What it takes to be a competitive applicant
- How to plan your course work
- How courses may transfer to NC State
- College credit for Military Service
- NC community college pathway degree plans
- Community College Collaborate (C3) and Military-Connect program
- Introduction to the Wolfpack military-affiliated student population
- Programming and service opportunities for military-affiliated students
- Scholarship and professional development opportunities
