Military and Veteran Services and Veterans Education is the university's centralized resource to coordinate integrated support to military-connected students.

It is our distinct honor to serve those who have served

We provide a variety of programs and services to:

  • Discharged and retired veterans
  • Active duty military
  • Members of the National Guard and Reserve Components
  • Spouses and dependents of military and veterans
  • Gold Star family members

Our goal is to enable you to succeed as you:

  1. Transition from military to the campus;
  2. Persist to graduation; and
  3. Transition from the campus to the civilian workforce

Mission

NC State University is committed to educating, supporting, and honoring student veterans and their families by helping them acquire the knowledge and skills necessary to achieve their personal and professional goals.

Our Community

NC State proudly serves over 2,500 military-connected students. In the 2020-2021 academic year, we served 893 veterans and 1,645 dependents.

Military and Veteran Services

Founded in Fall 2016, Military and Veteran Services coordinates a campus-wide effort to ensure that our military-connected students are able to successfully access important campus and community resources and support with ease. Our office serves as the University’s central location to provide specialized programs and services to over 2,500 veterans, active duty military, National Guard/Reserve, and their families.

Veterans Education

Our Veterans Education office specializes in providing administrative support for our military-connected student community. We serve over 900 veterans and eligible dependents annually in the processing of their VA Education Benefits, Tuition Assistance, and Vocational Readiness benefits, from the initial application through program completion.

Additionally, we are here to support our military-connected students with the following services:

  • Admissions counseling
  • Pathway programs
  • Residency reclassification
  • Military credit articulation
  • Military leave of absences and withdrawals
  • GI Bill® Payment plans
  • Yellow Ribbon benefits

In compliance with 34 C.F.R. 668, NC State University does not participate in fraudulent or aggressive recruitment of military students including, but not limited to, providing compensation to individuals for securing military enrollments or engaging in high-pressure recruitment tactics.
